On June 18, 2026, the first networking meeting of the new international ZIM innovation network, RESINET, took place. The focus was on introducing the individual partners, highlighting their areas of expertise, and discussing their expectations for the network’s activities.
To enable our international partners from Austria and Ethiopia to participate and get to know one another for the first time, the meeting was held online. The fact that a representative from nearly every network partner attended proved that this was the right decision.
First, Ms. Doreen Sparborth presented the Frankenförder Forschungsgesellschaft mbH introduced as a RESINET network management device. Mr. Patrick Mikuni-Mester then presented the vetmeduniWien as a foreign coordinator.
Afterward, participants from various small and medium-sized enterprises and research institutions in Germany, Austria, and Ethiopia had the opportunity to introduce themselves, their companies or institutions, and their interest in the network.
In the process, several areas of common ground have already become apparent. To achieve the network’s mission—preventing resistance and increasing resilience in the agriculture and food industry—existing expertise should be pooled and applied to the implementation of innovative research projects.
The event is seen as a successful start to a fruitful collaboration among the network partners.
